New construction expands ministry of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church
MARATHON, Wis. (Feb. 3, 2022) – Scherrer Construction Co., Inc., a full-service general contractor and construction management firm, in partnership with Sketchworks Architecture, LLC, recently completed the construction of Little Lions Childcare, a project led by St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marathon, Wisconsin.
The 12,500-square-foot facility will welcome children ages 6-weeks to 4-years-old. The main level consists of five classrooms, a prep kitchen and a multi-purpose room for indoor activities. Future construction will include finishing the basement to add two classrooms to accommodate a total of 120 children. Three playgrounds were designed and constructed for different age groups, and the facility contains a state-of-the-art security system.
“It was a privilege to be a part of building a childcare facility for my own church. I am proud of the work Scherrer does within the communities its employees live,” explained Craig Frieders, senior project manager of Scherrer Construction. “It’s very rewarding to help construct a safe and beautiful facility for my children to grow up in.”
Located at 300 County Road NN, construction was completed in just seven months. Little Lions Childcare plans to welcome children beginning in late February and will hold a ribbon-cutting at a later date to celebrate.
