Samaritan: Powers named intake specialist at Samaritan

MENASHA, Wis. (Sept. 6, 2022) – Kay Powers, MSW, APSW, has been named to the new intake specialist role at Samaritan. Powers meets with new clients to help ease longer wait times for treatment, learns their history and symptoms, completes initial mental health diagnoses and documentation, and matches clients to her therapist colleagues. The position is funded by a grant from United Way Fox Cities and an Outagamie County Behavioral Health Care Grant funded by the American Rescue Plan (ARPA).

Powers completed her internship at Samaritan in 2019 and returned as a resident in 2021. She earned her master’s degree in social work from UW-Madison and has 10 years of experience serving youth and families in Child Protective Services and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Oshkosh & Fox Cities-Home Base Program for runaway and homeless youth. She retains a parttime caseload in addition to her intake specialist role.
