NWTC Artisan and Business Center: What’s Your Function? exhibit opens Saturday

Green Bay, WI—March 18, 2022 — What’s Your Function? is a juried exhibition hosted at the Neville Public Museum featuring the artwork of NWTC Artisan and Business Center students, artists, staff, and faculty.

Artists were asked to explore the theme of “functional” artwork – from a table to a teapot or a tool – or by simply bringing joy with beauty. The idea of “functional” art doesn’t have to be obvious: it could be as simple as a painting on a wall. You might be thinking: “What function does a painting serve?” It could be to make you think, to provoke emotion, to bring joy, to cover a hole in the wall, or even cause a giggle!

The NWTC Artisan and Business Center is in the Olde Main Arts District promoting the appreciation and awareness of art through collaborative partnerships, year-round credit and non-credit classes, as well as open studio and studio rentals.

“Over the past eleven years the Artisan Center has been operating, we have had the opportunity to witness the artistic growth of several artists. This inspired us to reflect on the Center’s mission and use what we have learned to continue creating an inspiring and inclusive space for all artists,” NWTC Artisan and Business Center Artistic Design Project Coordinator Aaron Reimers said.

Open Saturday, March 19, 2022 through May 8, 2022.
