Milwaukee VA: Encourages community to support local veterans on giving Tuesday

MILWAUKEE — During Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, Milwaukee VA encourages the community to help support local Veterans through charitable donations or volunteer opportunities.
Individuals and organizations may donate to their local VA medical center by making an E-Donation through www.volunteer.va.gov.

“The holidays can be especially tough for certain vulnerable Veteran populations in our community,” said James McLain, Acting Medical Center Director of the Milwaukee VA. “Our community’s generosity during this time of the year can go a long way to show support to those who served our country.”

Opportunities are also available by donating time — such as becoming a volunteer driver to take Veterans to their appointments or volunteering in a role at the Milwaukee VA.
Milwaukee VA depends on the goodwill of our supporters to complement Veteran health care services.

Each year a specific wish list is created for the Medical Center to specify how to help various departments: www.va.gov/milwaukee-health-care/work-with-us/volunteer-or-donate/.

For additional information about donating or becoming a volunteer, please contact the Milwaukee VA Medical Center Voluntary Services office at 414-384-2000, ext. 41803.
