Lakefront Brewery: Wins best gluten-free beer in the world

MILWAUKEE (May 12, 2022) – On Thursday, May 5th, the World Beer Cup was held at the Craft Beer Conference in Minneapolis. In the category of gluten-free beer, Lakefront Brewery’s La Gosa Rita Margarita-Style Ale won Gold.

“The World Beer Cup is known as the Olympics of beer,” said Lakefront Brewery President, Russ Klisch. “To win gold means your beer is one of the best in the world.”

The Brewers Association developed the World Beer Cup Competition in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing. Often referred to as “The Olympics of Beer Competitions,” the World Beer Cup is the most prestigious beer competition in the world. In the 2022 competition, approximately 10,500 beers from 2,500 breweries were entered and judged by 226 folks.

La Gosa Rita Margarita-Style Ale was developed by Lakefront Brewery over a year ago as part of their gluten-free heritage. It has a bright lime tartness, a bit of agave and orange sweetness and just the right amount of sea salt saltiness. At 4.5 alcohol by volume, it’s light and refreshing.

Lakefront Brewery, Inc. distributes its products to over 30 states, Ukraine, South Korea, and Canada. Lakefront Brewery is the first brewery in Wisconsin and 22nd brewery in the world to be certified as a B Corporation. Lakefront Brewery also produced the first beer in the United States made from 100% in-state-grown ingredients, including a first-of-its-kind, indigenous Wisconsin yeast strain (Wisconsinite Summer Weiss), the first certified organic brewery and the first gluten-free beer granted approval by the U.S. Government (New Grist).
