HGA: Kate Mullaney named strategy leader for healthcare sector at HGA

MILWAUKEE — HGA is pleased to announce Kate Mullaney, CPSM, was named Market Sector Strategy Leader for the nationally recognized healthcare practice effective August 1, 2022.

As Market Sector Strategy Leader, Mullaney is a member of the national healthcare practice leadership team, along with the Market Sector Leader and Market Sector Operations Leader.

In this role, Mullaney supports the growth of HGA’s national practice with market strategies that respond to emerging trends; she promotes cross-office and cross-market collaboration to address healthcare clients’ complex challenges with holistic design solutions. She works with leaders in twelve offices nationwide to develop and implement market strategies.

“Kate has engaged with some of the most innovative healthcare systems in the country to understand their long-term strategic needs,” said Tim Carl, FAIA, CEO of HGA. “She has a deep understanding of the challenges our healthcare industry is facing and knows how to connect the right people and ideas from across the firm to build strategies that address those challenges. We are excited to have Kate in this collaborative leadership role”
Mullaney joined HGA in 2016 as a regional business developer for the Arts, Community & Education practice. In 2017, she was named national healthcare business developer, and in 2019 was named national market strategist for healthcare. In 2021, she was named to HGA’s firmwide planning committee, which focuses on strategic goals and initiatives that support firm growth.

“I am inspired by the spirit of innovation in HGA’s healthcare practice,” Mullaney says. “Over the past two decades, our healthcare practice has pioneered the use of Lean process improvement and evidence-based design research, set new standards in project delivery, advanced prefabrication to provide pandemic response, and conceptualized a revolutionary delivery system for food and medicine that advances agriculture paradigms and elevates health in local communities and around the globe. Our next holistic design innovations will address healthcare’s financial and workforce challenges, health equity, and global connectivity—whether a pandemic or climate change.”

Mullaney also is a member of SMPS (Society for Marketing Professional Services), Past President of SMPS Chicago (2012 – 2013), and speaks nationally on strategy and business development topics.
