Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce: Golden Days Harvest Fest

GREEN LAKE, WISCONSIN – Moving into its 34 th year of fun, the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring you another year of jam-packed activities and events for all ages to enjoy. In honor of Green Lake’s 175th Anniversary, we are bringing back the original festival name, “Golden Days!” This year’s Golden Days Harvest Fest will take place on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25. It features a wide range of activities beginning at 10:00 am on both days.

Golden Days includes the long-standing Craft Fair, which is an essential part of Harvest Fest that boasts nearly 100+ crafters who set up shop in Deacon Mills Park, Playground Park, and Town Square’s front lawn. They showcase a wide variety of jewelry, art, wood working, home décor, clothing and more.

For those looking for fresh food items grown and produced locally, the Harvest Fest Farmers’ Market will take place from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Water Street, near Playground Park. With a variety of apples, produce, dog treats, honey, cheese, and baked goods, the Farmers’ Market will have something for everyone.

The Antique Tractor Show will take place on Saturday, September 24 from 10 am to 4 pm. We are encouraging collectors to come on down and showcase their antique tractors, equipment, machinery, and anything related to harvesting on Mill Street from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm. Participation is free and all are welcome to join us in the parade at 4 pm.

Betsy Cow Chip Bingo will take place on the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s green space on Saturday from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Stick around for Betsy’s Mooo-vement and win $750 cash, along with winners to be drawn every half hour, based on where Besty’s position. Tickets will be sold for $20 each at the Green Lake Chamber office and at Adams Rib.

The Golden Days Harvest Fest Parade will start at 4:00 pm from the Green Lake County Fairgrounds and head west on South Street, right on Mill Street, and right on Water Street, and ends back in the fairgrounds. This year’s theme will be “Green Lake – Celebrating 175 Years.” The parade will host multiple flavors of entertainment, including The Yankee Dutchmen Solar Powered Precision Marching Band, a fan favorite of unique music and comedy, strolling entertainment, and more.

Also, a highlight for many, is the giant Harvest of Bargains rummage sale held inside the historic Thrasher Opera House on Mill Street. You never know what you might find as you explore the rows of furniture, art, toys, books, electronics, dishes, outdoor recreation items, and more. The Harvest of Bargains runs from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Green Lake’s American Legion Post #306 will be starting Sunday off with their famous Pancake Breakfast from 6:30 am – 11:00 am at the Legion building, located at the corner of Water and Lake Street. The Legion members will also be hosting Sink the Bismark in Playground Park both days from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Speaking of food and beverages, no Wisconsin festival would be complete without an expansive variety of delicious food and beverages. The Chamber beverage tent will be loaded with plenty of delicious local brews. Area restaurants, service groups, and food trucks will be serving a variety of original food items during the Taste of Green Lake on both days from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Several musical acts will entertain festival audiences with Remington’s Ride kicking off on Saturday from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm, and Vice Versa following the parade from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm, located at the Festival Square stage. Sunday’s music includes Whiskeybelles from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm. Two new additions this year for children are The Dollipops, who will be doing two performances on Town Square’s terrace at 11:00 am and 2 pm.

Along with The Kindschi’s Kid’s Pedal Pull, which kicks off with registration at 11 am and pulls beginning at noon, also located on Town Square’s terrace.

Raffle tickets will be available to pre-purchase at the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce or available at the Chamber information tent on Mill Street on Saturday, the 24 th or Sunday, the 25 th . The drawing takes place at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. First prize is a Broil King Crown 400 Pellet Grill plus 2 Adirondack Chairs, sponsored by KDR Wood Design. Second prize is a 5 Piece Patio Fire Pit Set, sponsored by ACE Hardware. Third prize is $250 Cash, sponsored by the Green
Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Green Lake Car Show will be held on Sunday, September 25. This show features all makes and models and will be parked along Mill and Hill Street for all visitors to enjoy. Cost to participate is $10, which includes car dash plaques to the first 200, committee choice trophies, and cash prize money to be drawn at 3 pm.
