EnTech Solutions: Installs clean electric vehicle charging system at Hilldale in partnership with Metcalfe’s

Green energy solution providessustainable vehicle charging capabilities for customers, community

MADISON, Wis. (Feb. 17, 2022) – EnTech Solutions, a full-service clean energy solutions provider, has installed a clean energy electric vehicle (EV) charging system outside of Metcalfe’s Market at Hilldale in Madison, Wisconsin. This provides a convenient charging solution for those in the Madison community who drive electric vehicles and want an environmentally friendly option for vehicle charging. The Level 2 solar charger will be available for free over the next several months.

A microgrid is an onsite energy system that can operate independent of the utility grid, making it clean, efficient and reliable. The Xcape™ microgrid designed, built and installed by EnTech Solutions at Hilldale draws 18 kilowatts of power from solar panels, and stores excess energy in batteries for use when the sun isn’t shining and at night. The off-grid system is supported by a natural gas generator when battery or solar power is not available.

“Metcalfe’s has a very commendable sustainability practice with their stores powered completely by renewable energy,” said Scott Romenesko, EnTech Solutions president. “Providing this clean-energy EV charging system for their guests is an extension of that effort and is another reminder of the importance of sustainability to their organization,” he said.

The Hilldale Shopping Center location of Metcalfe’s Market is also home to more than 50 retail shops, dining options and fitness classes, and hosts a popular farmers market from May through October each year. Customers and guests of these locations can take advantage of the clean EV charging option while visiting Hilldale businesses.

“Metcalfe’s commitment to sustainability continues to evolve, and we are so excited to be part of this project, bringing clean EV charging to the Madison community,” said Tim Metcalfe, president and fourth generation co-owner of Metcalfe’s. “We are thrilled that folks can try it out for free,” he noted.

Nanci Horn, Hilldale general manager noted, “We’re excited to partner with EnTech and Metcalfe’s to bring this amenity to Hilldale guests as Hilldale looks to grow our sustainable offerings.”
