Disability Service Provider Network: Announces new initiative to build long term care workforce: The Wisconsin Provider Workforce Network

Madison, WI… The Disability Service Provider Network, (DSPN) announces The Wisconsin Provider Workforce Network, a new initiative funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). A critical component of ARPA is funding to states to strengthen Home and Community Based Services (HCBS).

The Wisconsin Provider Workforce Network is available to any interested HCBS provider in our state. Two main components include the online learning community, the Wisconsin Provider Learning Network, a forum for providers to connect with one another to share emerging practices, ask questions of each other, support each other through challenges, and document their experience with “DSP Magnet: The Essentials,” a series of workshops offered by Blitz Creative.

The Essentials is a proven three-part workshop series for providers aimed at Recruitment, Retention and Culture. Each workshop series is virtual and held over three months. After each workshop, “office hours” with Blitz Creative and DSPN will allow for more conversation and questions for participants. Staff with hiring authority are asked to participate in the workshops. Visit www.dspn.org for more information and registration information. The first workshop series begins January, 2023.

“I have never taken a training that really changed things so quickly and so dramatically for me. It was exactly what I needed at the exact right time. Before the training, we had zero applicants and were wondering where everyone was. We were at a critical place. We were putting people on a waiting list for job coaching because we just couldn’t hire any job coaches. We just posted a position, and we have 49 applicants! I just had my ninth interview; we’ll have someone hired by the end of the week. After that, we don’t have any open positions. The training was a game-changer!”
