La Crosse, WI— Through sponsorship of a La Crosse Public Education Foundation’s (LPEF) Gold Star Grant, Dairyland Power Cooperative is supporting improved training for staff to increase mobility opportunities for local students.

Dairyland sponsored the Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience (M.O.V.E.) grant, which will provide physical therapy and occupational therapy staff with training to help high school students with significant physical needs to maintain their independence.
Dairyland regularly supports regional educational initiatives and has also collaborated with LPEF with its Adopt-a-School program as Hintgen Elementary School’s partner. The Adopt-a-School program matches businesses and community organizations to specific schools in La Crosse.

“As a supporter of local public education, Dairyland is proud to help bring programs to students that improve the quality of their lives and their overall school experience,” said Deb Mirasola, Director, Member Relations & Chief Communications Officer. “The innovation and dedication of local educators is what leads to programs like M.O.V.E., which will have a direct impact on area high school students.”

With headquarters in La Crosse, Wis., Dairyland provides wholesale electricity to 24 member distribution cooperatives and 17 municipal utilities. A Touchstone Energy Cooperative, Dairyland’s service area encompasses 62 counties in four states (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois). For more information, please visit www.dairylandpower.com.
