(July 5, 2022) Appleton, Wis. – Consolidated Construction Co., Inc., a full-service design/build contractor based in Appleton, has purchased James J. Calmes and Sons Construction in Kaukauna.
As part of the transaction, Calmes will be renamed Calmes Construction Services, a Division of Consolidated Construction Co., Inc. All members of the Calmes team will join Consolidated, including President Randy Calmes. They will continue to work out of their current Kaukauna location.
President John Schneider said Consolidated Construction will gain access to additional resources, including Calmes’ carpentry unit and facility.
“Calmes has a solid reputation and loyal customer base and we plan to honor that legacy and history,” he said. “This purchase strengthens Consolidated Construction’s market position by opening us up to new opportunities.”
Becoming a part of Consolidated Construction will benefit Calmes’ customers since there will be more resources available, Randy Calmes said.
“Going forward, our top priority will be maintaining the expertise and quality our customers have experienced with us,” he said.
James J. Calmes formed the Kaukauna general contractor in 1961 and sold the company to his sons, Randy and Todd Calmes, in 2000.
At a time when the construction industry is facing a skilled trades shortage, Schneider said adding more craftsmen will help Consolidated better meet the needs of its customers.
“Having more of our own skilled trade talent will allow us to better fulfill project goals and provide expanded overall service,” he said.
