Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield: Reinvests in lung health

MILWAUKEE (February 28, 2022)  The American Lung Association in Wisconsin announced that Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, for the 14th consecutive year, signed on as the presenting sponsor of the 2022

Fight For Air Climb at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, on April 9.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the Lung Association remains committed to providing the best possible resources to people in our community,” said Megan Cordova, executive director of the Lung Association. “Events like the Fight For Air Climb help raise funding so that our organization can offer critical services and educational information about lung disease to the community, including COVID-19. Without the continued support that we receive from local presenting sponsors like Anthem, the events and services that we provide would not be possible.”

The Milwaukee Fight For Air Climb attracts hundreds of climbers from across Wisconsin who raise awareness and funding to help end lung disease, including COVID-19, through lifesaving research, local programs and advocacy. Featuring one-of-a-kind views of the city skyline and the best set of stairs this side of the Mississippi, American Family Field is the perfect setting for a day of fun, challenge and camaraderie. For those who can’t attend the event, the Lung Association is also offering a “Climb Your Way” option.

“Our community should be proud that Milwaukee’s Fight For Air Climb is the premier event of its kind in the country, attracting more participants and raising more funds to support the work of the American Lung Association than any other climb,” said Anthem Medical Director Julie Mitchell, M.D. “This long-time partnership is a cornerstone of Anthem’s commitment to improving lives and communities here in Wisconsin. Once again we expect to have a large number of our associates out there climbing.”

The Lung Association is committed to the health and safety of its participants and volunteers. The organization will continue to closely monitor public health conditions and CDC guidelines for COVID-19. Everyone is encouraged to check the Climb website for the most updated information leading up to the event.
