Agrace: Kari Potter named Agrace’s vice president of human resources

MADISON, Wis. – Agrace, a nonprofit, community-supported health care organization that provides personal care, supportive (palliative) care, hospice care and grief support to people across southern Wisconsin, has appointed Kari Potter as its vice president of human resources.

In her role, Potter leads Agrace’s human resources, volunteer services and employee engagement programs, and serves on the nonprofit’s leadership council.

Potter, of Madison, joins Agrace with more than 25 years of human resources management experience. She most recently served as the senior director of human resources for UW Health, a Madison-based integrated academic health care system with more than 15,000 employees and physicians.

At UW Health, Potter was responsible for human resources functions including compensation, benefits, human resources information systems, employee health and employee well-being. She was integral in advancing multiple initiatives during her tenure, such as system integration efforts, establishing the human resources infrastructure and serving as the human resources lead in UW Health’s COVID-19 response.

“Kari brings years of local, professional human resources experience in the health care industry,” said Agrace president and CEO Lynne Sexten. “Her leadership will help Agrace continue to build and retain highly qualified, engaged and diverse staff to serve patients and clients across southern Wisconsin.”

Potter earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in human resources management, from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is a member of several local and national human resources and health care professional organizations such as the American Medical Group Association CHRO Council, Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Wisconsin Healthcare Human Resources Association.
