Wolf River Community Bank: Local high schools to hold field goal contests at varsity football games

Hortonville, WI (August 16, 2021): Wolf River Community Bank will be hosting Field Goal Contests at select Hortonville, New London, and Shiocton High School varsity home football games this fall season.

Attendees who want a chance at attempting a kick will take a complimentary ticket from a Wolf River Community Bank staff member as they enter the game.  A ticket will be drawn to randomly select a contestant who will be given the option to kick a 35-yard field goal with the chance to win $1,000 ($500 to the contestant, $500 to the school district) or an extra point with the chance to win $100 ($50 to the contestant, $50 to the school district).

“The field goal contests are an enjoyable way to get involved in the communities we serve,” said Joe Peikert, President/CEO of Wolf River Community Bank. “As a community institution, we continue to be a strong supporter of local schools, cities, villages, towns, and charitable organizations. These contests give us an opportunity as well to connect and give back to our community members, especially as we kick off our 25th anniversary this fall.”

Wolf River Community Bank held the inaugural Field Goal Contests and Half-Court Contests at the schools in 2019. As with many events in 2020, the contests were held virtually last year, with school administrators and faculty taking part in the shots and kicks. Wolf River Community Bank donated over $4,000 to local schools last year through the virtual contests.

This year, Hortonville field goal contests will take place on the fields at the end of the first quarter, with New London and Shiocton at the beginning of halftime. The first game featuring the field goal contest will take place at Shiocton High School on Friday, August 20, at 7 PM.  A schedule of field goal contests held at varsity home games includes:
