Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association: Grateful for much needed $75 million aid package

Brookfield, WI–After more than a year of being ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, Wisconsin’s lodging industry has been awarded $75 million in grant funding to help lodging establishments. The aid was announced today by Governor Tony Evers, who also included grant funding to other sectors within the Tourism industry.

“We are grateful for the Governor’s focus on the tourism and hospitality industry with these grant funds, as they will play a big role in helping us navigate through our recovery from the terrible situation that COVID-19 put us in,” said Bill Elliott, President & CEO of the Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association. He continued, “In 2020 alone, Wisconsin’s lodging industry lost more than $1 Billion in revenue. While we’re starting to see leisure travel make a strong comeback in many markets, the business and corporate travel that so many lodging facilities depend on for survival will take some time to rebound.”
