Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin: Partners to host downtown Madison virtual job fair June 2

MADISON – The Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin (WDBSCW), in partnership with the City of Madison, Destination Madison, Downtown Madison Inc., Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, Job Center of Wisconsin, Madison’s Central Business Improvement District and Madison Originals, is hosting a virtual job fair to connect job seekers to the businesses that are hiring located on and surrounding the Madison Isthmus.

“We are excited to bring a virtual job fair to our partners and local hospitality businesses in desperate need of staff as they plan for relaunch to welcome back both visitors and residents,” said Diane Morgenthaler, Destination Madison executive Vice President. “The WDBSCW is an amazing resource for employers and job seekers, and a more than willing collaborator and support structure for organizations like Destination Madison and Downtown Madison, Inc. to help their partner businesses with the challenge of finding employees. The virtual format of this fair will make it widely accessible and simple for individuals to connect with potential employers. This is a great opportunity for the tourism and hospitality industries as we work toward recovery.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to directly connect with 28 companies located in downtown Madison. The Premier Virtual platform allows job seekers to instant message recruiters, browse job postings and explore the attending businesses.

“We continue to hear from businesses in the region that they’re struggling to find talent,” said Seth Lentz, WDBSCW Chief Executive Officer. “Our goal is to utilize this virtual platform to help facilitate a connection between job seekers and companies that are hiring for great jobs.”
