Security Health Plan: Expands Medicaid coverage

MARSHFIELD – Security Health Plan is pleased to expand its Medicaid contract with the state of Wisconsin to now include the Medicaid Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program starting Jan. 1, 2022, in addition to serving BadgerCare Plus.

Medicaid SSI health care coverage is for individuals age 65 or older, blind or disabled. Security Health Plan will administer this program for individuals living in 12 counties throughout central and northcentral Wisconsin.

“When qualified individuals select Security Health Plan for their SSI coverage, they get added peace of mind,” said Security Health Plan Director of Health Plan Products Erin Long. “They’ll receive personalized support and resources from a health care team, making sure they get the right care, at the right place and at the right time.”

Individuals enrolled in Security Health Plan’s Medicaid SSI program receive access to a care team consisting of a registered nurse, social worker and community support specialist. They work together to ensure each member gets individualized attention to manage their health, connects them with resources in their community, helps identify potential health risks, and checks on them after any hospital, emergency room or skilled nursing facility stay.

“We’re looking forward to serving the medical and social needs of these members, and helping them achieve their best health,” said Health Services Clinical Manager Sherri Winer.
