Madison, WI – The annual convention of the Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin was held September 29th and 30th at the Hyatt Regency in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The refreshed event, now titled “Engage 2021” hosted hundreds of agents and insurance representatives from across the state.
Several statewide award recipients were announced and presented.
Brian MacGillis, CPIA of MacGillis Agency, Inc. in Fredonia, WI was awarded the Ron Von Haden Agent of the Year Award. Recently renamed the “Ron Von Haden Agent of the Year Award,” the award is given to an agent who exhibits extraordinary dedication to the insurance industry, independent agents and the PIAW, like the awards namesake.
“Brian is an outstanding example for all independent agents. He is a man of extreme integrity and constantly displays his dedication to his clients and the field of insurance,” said PIAW President Ryan Butzke, CIC, CISR.
Brian is a past president of PIAW and has continued to remain involved with the Board and Committees. He is the Agency President and owner specializing in Commercial and Personal Lines insurance at MacGillis Insurance Agency in Fredonia, WI. Outside of insurance, he is married with three children, loves spending time with his family, and enjoys coaching baseball and curling.
The Stony Steinbach Achievement Award is given to a PIAW member who puts forth the energy, efficiency, and enthusiasm of the award’s namesake, who led PIA for 40 years. The Stony Steinbach Achievement Award was awarded to:
• Sean Paterson of Robertson Ryan & Associates in Waukesha, WI
Sean Paterson has served on many PIAW committees, sat on the Board of Directors for the past six years, and served as President during the difficult transitions following March 2020.
“This award is voted on by the Board of Directors, making it truly an award from the recipients’ peers,” said Executive Director Pete Hanson. “Sean has shown so much leadership and guidance during his time as President and serving on the board. We are so grateful.”
The Company Representative of the Year Award is awarded to a company representative that shows outstanding dedication to the insurance industry and support for PIAW. The Company Representative of the Year Award was given to:
• Casey Flood of Society Insurance in Fond du Lac, WI
Casey is Regional Sales Manager for Southeast Wisconsin for Society Insurance and has gained a reputation as dependable, knowledgeable, and genuine among PIA leaders.
