O&H Danish Bakery: Debuts new Racine chocolate malt kringle with kringle and ice cream social on August 7

RACINE, Wis. — As an homage to another iconic Racine tradition, world-renowned O&H Danish Bakery today announced the unveiling of a limited-edition Racine Chocolate Malt Kringle. The new Kringle is a nod to the popular malted milk product that was invented by two brothers in Racine in 1887. To celebrate the launch of this new flavor, O&H Danish Bakery and Mullen’s Dairy Bar are hosting a Kringle and ice cream social at 5910 Washington Ave. on Saturday, August 7 from 1 – 5 p.m.

The new Racine Chocolate Malt Kringle features O&H’s signature tender pastry filled with a creamy malt filling, topped with a decadent chocolate malt frosting, and sprinkled with pieces of malted milk balls.

In honor of the debuted new Racine Malt flavor, O&H Danish Bakery and Mullen’s Dairy Bar created a one-time-only Racine Chocolate Malt Kringle Sundae, available at the event only. The Racine Chocolate Malt Kringle Sundae will pair scratch made creamy vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, a slice of the featured Kringle and a touch of malt powder. The fun community event will have games for attendees to enjoy, as well as other bakery treats and scoops of Mullen’s Dairy Bar’s favorite ice cream flavors for purchase.

“We feel honored to be a part of the Racine community and thought there was no better way to celebrate that than with a tribute to the city itself by inviting our valued customers out for an afternoon of fun, Kringle and ice cream,” said Eric Olesen, third generation co-owner of O&H Danish Bakery. “The Racine Chocolate Malt Kringle is really something special and we can’t wait for you all to try it.”

This new Kringle flavor comes on the heels of the bakery’s recent re-investment in the Racine community with its new store on Douglas Ave. which opened to the public on July 21. Over the last 72 years, O&H Danish Bakery has grown to include multiple locations in Southeast Wisconsin and has garnered a nationwide following, but its roots have always remained in Racine.

The Racine Chocolate Malt Kringle will officially be available in the bakery’s five stores beginning on Saturday, Aug. 7 and is currently available to pre-order for online shipping orders.

This small batch Kringle is only available for two weeks in August and customers can visit any of O&H’s five bakery locations in Wisconsin or shop online for Kringle, gourmet gift packages, and more at www.ohdanishbakery.com.
