Morgan Truck Body: Increases wages for local manufacturing workers, plus more than 150 new hires

JANESVILLE, WI – June 14, 2021 — Morgan Truck Body, based locally in Rock County, is announcing a full-time and part-time wage increase of $2 per hour at its Janesville, Wisconsin location. Existing and newly hired manufacturing and service center workers will receive a minimum $17 per hour, beginning June 14 and ending October 3.

“We have seen record demand across the country for our trucks since the pandemic began, due largely to more residential deliveries from retailers, as well as increased demand for transportation of medical equipment, supplies and vaccines. We want to hire many new team members and retain our current staff at a higher wage, just when they need it most,” says Brady Bagwan, Morgan’s Vice President, Human Resources.

The wage increase is provided for all 200 existing hourly manufacturing and service center employees in Janesville, as well as 150 or more new hourly manufacturing and service center positions. A $1,000 hiring bonus is provided for new hourly team members beginning work prior to August 31, 2021. Applicants for whom English is a second language are welcome, and most positions require no prior experience.

With some of the best benefits for hourly workers in the manufacturing industry, jobs are available for entry-level and experienced workers for positions including production assemblers, welders, painters, material handlers, quality control technicians and team leads. Most of the open positions are for entry-level production assemblers, with in-house training available to advance to specialized positions including welders and painters.

Morgan is the largest manufacturer of medium-duty freight and refrigerated van and truck bodies in North America. The company employs more than 2,300 hourly workers at 14 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

While the wage increase ends October 3, 2021, the jobs will remain in place indefinitely. Applicants are contacted within 48 hours of applying, and jobs are offered the same day as the interview.
