MobCraft Beer and 414 Flowers: To team up for pop up beer garden at 414 Flowers new Walker’s Point location

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – MobCraft Beer and 414 Flowers are working together to host a pop up beer garden on Thursday, May 27 from 4:00-7:00pm.  The beer garden will be hosted at 414 Flower’s newest pop up garden and greenhouse located at 209 E. National Avenue (across the street from Allie Boy’s Bagelry & Luncheonette).  The pop up beer garden will feature MobCraft Beer, plant shopping, music from Milwaukee Airwaves, food from La Merenda, and ice cream from Purple Door Creamery.

MobCraft Beer has resided in Walker’s Point since the summer of 2016.  This is the first year 414 Flowers has a Walker’s Point location.  414 Flowers also operates two locations at the Wauwatosa and Bayview Outposts. When asked about why 414 Flowers decided to establish a pop up in Walker’s Point, owner George Holtz responded, “Choosing to add our third location to Walker’s Point was simple.  Walker’s Point is a fast growing, diverse neighborhood known for its nightlife scene. It’s the exciting place to live and visit in Milwaukee.”

MobCraft Beer’s Event & Programming Manager, Elise Strupp, hopes the pop up will serve as a kick off to summer events.  “Hosting the beer garden the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend invites attendees to start the weekend early or squeeze in one last outdoor happy hour before heading out of town for the weekend,” says Strupp.  “The pop up beer garden focuses on fresh products from local businesses,”  Strupp continued.  All of MobCraft’s Beer is brewed at their location on 5th and Virginia.  414 Flowers offers products solely from Wisconsin’s growers, including Stange’s Greenhouse in Milwaukee, Prange’s in Jackson, Wausaukee Plant Market in Mequon, and Schroeder’s Fox Valley Greenhouse.

Holtz looks forward to hosting an event to meet his new neighbors: “The 414 Flowers Walkers Point location will be the flagship location in our small pop up garden center chain. Welcoming our new neighbors and community partners from around Walker’s Point and the Harbor District is an ideal way to introduce 414 Flowers to the neighborhood and community. Come say hello have a bite to eat and drink!”

All three 414 Flowers locations will be open May 1 through July 2.  Hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Friday, and 9:30am to 7:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  You can learn more about 414 Flowers at www.414Flowers.com

MobCraft Beer was founded in 2013 by Henry Schwartz and Andrew Gierczak. It is the world’s first crowdsourced brewery. MobCraft’s taproom is located at 505 S. 5th Street in the Walker’s Point neighborhood of Milwaukee, WI. Throughout the year the crowd submits and votes on beer ideas. At the end of the vote, the winning beer is brewed and available for all to enjoy. These crowdsourced beers are served in the taproom with MobCraft flagships, beers from their Wild & Sour Program, and more.

414 Flowers was founded by George Holtz.  Since being a kid, George Holtz has always been into flowers and plants. He also remembered going to a pop-up store many years ago when he was inspired to bring the combination of flowers and plants to metro-Milwaukee residents. By hiring knowledgeable staff and focusing on local growers, George knew that he could offer something to his customers that no one else could.
