Kahler Slater: Announces partnership with COA youth & family centers

(MILWAUKEE, WI—March 31, 2021) Kahler Slater is excited to announce that it has chosen the firm’s 2021/2022 community partner organization. Kahler Slater has committed to a two-year partnership with COA Youth & Family Centers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as part of its corporate core value to give back to the communities where they live, work and play. Kahler Slater’s two-year partnership program began in 2013 in an effort to form relationships and have a deeper impact on the community.

COA Youth & Family Centers’ mission is to help Milwaukee children, teens and families reach their greatest potential through a variety of educational, recreational and social work programs offered through its urban community centers, Milwaukee Public Schools and a rural camp facility. As a multicultural agency, COA values diversity and promotes positive social interaction. The organization focuses on three core areas including Early Child Development, Youth Development and Community Development. COA serves 10,000 children and families every year.

“Even in uncertain times, and especially during COVID, COA Youth & Family Centers is here to serve. We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Kahler Slater and their employees who have come together as volunteers to ‘walk the walk’ in this time of need. With Kahler Slater’s support, we can achieve so much more for Milwaukee families than we could alone. We are stronger and better together,” said Charlotte Cannon-Sain COA Youth & Family Centers Executive Director.

Kahler Slater’s Milwaukee office will kick-off this two-year partnership with an outdoor volunteer activity this Spring. “We are honored to be partnering with COA Youth & Family Centers to support their mission of helping Milwaukee’s children, teens and families,” said Kelly Gaglione Kahler Slater Executive Vice President. “Over the next two years, we hope to make significant contributions through ongoing volunteer activities and make a positive impact on the lives of families in our community. We know we grow stronger as a firm, and as individuals, when we are engaged in programs that give back to our own local communities.”

The two-year community partnerships are a firmwide initiative allowing Kahler Slater to develop long-standing relationships and establish multiple ways to donate, volunteer and support each organization. Kahler Slater’s Madison office is collaborating with Wisconsin Youth Company, which helps kids beyond the school day with high-quality programming throughout Dane and Waukesha Counties. The Richmond office is partnering with Boys & Girls Club of Metro Richmond to support and empower young people, especially those from historically marginalized communities, to succeed in life. The Chicago office is working with My Block My Hood My City who provides underprivileged youth with an awareness of the world and opportunities beyond their neighborhood.
