Eau Claire, WI- Long-time Vice President and Assistant Business Manager, Brady Weiss was appointed to the local union’s top job by the Local 953 executive board on Thursday, November 18, 2021, upon the retirement of two-term Business Manager, Martin Sandberg.
Brady, a graduate of Dakota County Technical College and journeyman lineman for Xcel Energy was first elected Vice President of the Local Union in 2004 and appointed Assistant Business Manager in 2007. Through this role, Brady also serves as a Trustee for the Missouri Valley Line Constructors JATC and on the advisory board for the Chippewa Valley Technical College Electrical Power Distribution program. In his time, Brady has successfully negotiated numerous agreements, organized new units, and built lasting partnerships in the industry and community.
As Business Manager, Brady plans to continue the 953 traditions of negotiating and enforcing excellent, pro-worker contracts while continuing to prioritize organizing unrepresented workers.
Brady currently resides in his hometown, Mondovi, WI with his wife, Julie and two kids, Kros and Amelia. Along with serving as Mayor of Mondovi, Brady is a lifetime member of the Mondovi Conservation Club and can be found hunting, fishing, and spending time with family in his free time.
