Hidalgo/Warner: Eighth annual memorial golf outing raises over $38,000 for charity

MILWAUKEE, Wis.—On Friday, July 23, Team Hidalgo/Warner hosted their Eighth Annual Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing at Western Lakes Golf Course in Pewaukee, benefitting military members and their families.

With 150 golfers and 189 event attendees, Team Hidalgo/Warner raised a total of $38,971 to benefit Fisher House Wisconsin, the Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Fund and Richard D. Warner Memorial Fund. The fundraising event included a lunch, raffle and 18-hole scramble.

“While this year’s event did not have the dinner and auction due to COVID-19 precautions, the turnout was outstanding,” said Jorge Hidalgo, Wilde East Towne Honda principal partner. “We are honored to host this annual event, not only to remember Daren and Rich who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, but also to support veterans and military families.”

The families of Army 1st Lt. Daren Hidalgo and Marine Lance Cpl. Richard ‘Rich’ Warner presented Fisher House Wisconsin with a donation check on Oct. 13 for $13,000, representing their contribution from funds raised at the Eighth Annual Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing.

“Fisher House Wisconsin is extremely grateful for the ongoing support provided to us by Team Hidalgo/Warner,” said Dirk Debbink, president of Fisher House Wisconsin. “We pledge to use these funds to provide support for veterans and their families as a living memorial to Daren and Rich—we remember and honor their service and ultimate sacrifice, always!”
