DeWitt LLP: Kathleen M. Newman achieves recertification in family law with the National Board of Trial Advocacy

GREEN BAY | MADISON | MILWAUKEE | MINNEAPOLIS – DeWitt LLP announced today that the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) announced that Kathleen M. Neman has successfully achieved recertification as a Family Law advocate.  The NBTA was formed out of a strong conviction that both the law profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney’s experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.

About Newman:

Newman has extensive experience in all aspects of marital dissolutions, including cases with high net worth, closely owned businesses, professional practices, and complex custody matters and is well-versed in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.  In 35 years of practice, she has helped clients develop clients develop sophisticated and strategic solutions to preserve assets and maintain the marital standard of living.  

Newman earned a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a B.A. from Hamline University.  Newman is Board-Certified as a Family Law Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.   She is also a skilled mediator, approved for inclusion in the Minnesota ADR Statewide Neutrals Roster in all categories of Family Neutrals and is on the Minnesota Supreme Courts list of Appellate mediators.  She is a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Hennepin County Bar Association – Family Law Section, Minnesota State Bar Association – Family Law Section and the American Bar Association.
