American Federation for Children: New mobile app helps Wisconsin parents explore school options amid pandemic

To celebrate the start of National School Choice Week, Wisconsin Federation for Children is excited to announce the new School Finder WI mobile application for Wisconsin parents.

The School Finder WI app provides parents with in-depth school information from the statewide report card using their exact location.

Users can enter their location, evaluate schools available in their area on an interactive map, see ratings, find school contact information and enrollment details, and sign up for notifications for application deadlines.

Today, many parents are worried or frustrated about the quality of their child’s education. According to a recent Pew Research Center survey, 68% of parents of students in K-12 schools with at least some online instruction express concern about their children falling behind in school because of disruptions caused by the pandemic.

“We believe every child deserves a world-class education,” says Justin Moralez, Wisconsin state director for the American Federation for Children. “The new School Finder WI app is a strong step in helping parents get the information they need to choose the right school for their child – whether public, private or charter.”
