Podcamp Media: Signs National Corn Growers Association as a client

MILWAUKEE, Wis.—Milwaukee’s startup branded podcast production agency, Podcamp Media, has signed the National Corn Growers Association as a client, Podcamp owner Dusty Weis announced.

And this week, the NCGA and Podcamp Media launched the NCGA’s new flagship podcast, “Wherever Jon May Roam,” hosted by association CEO Jon Doggett.

“I am just thrilled to have the NCGA as a client,” Weis said. “As an organization that represents the interests of more than 300,000 corn farmers nationwide, many of whom work their own land in tractors and combines, the NCGA has a tailor-made audience for podcasts.”

“Jon Doggett is a natural storyteller, and the NCGA has so many fascinating stories to tell as it works to support its members and stakeholders. I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work on their behalf.”

In one of the podcast’s newly-released episodes, Doggett interviews Molson Coors chief communications officer Adam Collins, along with NCGA President Kevin Ross and NCGA VP of Communications Neil Caskey. Together, they recount the tale of their very public battle with Anheuser-Busch, after a series of Bud Light Super Bowl ads attacked Miller Lite and Coors Light for using corn in their brewing processes.

“If you’ve ever wondered how PR decisions get made at major global brands, this episode is a fascinating peek behind the scenes,” Weis said.

Launched in the summer of 2019, Podcamp Media is a Milwaukee-based media production agency specializing in branded podcasts for businesses. Using high-production value on-demand audio, supporting video and social media, Podcamp helps companies and associations engage their customers and members through targeted storytelling.

Prior to founding Podcamp Media, Weis worked as the strategic communications manager at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and the public relations supervisor at Milwaukee City Hall. He was a reporter and news anchor at WIOD-AM in Miami, Fla. and WTDY-AM in Madison, Wis., and was also a correspondent for the CBS Radio news network.

Earlier this month, Podcamp released its own flagship podcast, “Lead Balloon,” which explores tales of PR disasters, professional crises and half-baked campaigns gone awry, and gives well-meaning communications professionals a platform to re-live the worst moments of their careers.
