MADISON, Wis. – Elected official, environmental nonprofit leader, and small business owner John Imes announced his support today for a comprehensive series of recommendations by the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) and a collaboration of state and local organizations and thought leaders. Imes is a participant in the initiative.

From reframing economic development, finance, and procurement practices, to prioritizing worker health and safety, education, climate and energy, and expanding food systems, clean water, and broadband access, the recommendations include both short and long-term solutions that state and local leaders can implement immediately, some with little or no cost.

“Business as usual and politics as usual are no longer an option if we’re going to save our economy and take better care of local businesses, workers, families and communities,” said Imes. “These public policy recommendations provide a blueprint for us to build a stronger, more sustainable and resilient post-COVID recovery that puts people first!”
