APPLETON, Wis. (November 18, 2020) – The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the addition of Kate Bruns to its staff. In her role, Bruns will lead investor relations efforts, facilitating communications and relationships between the Chamber and its diverse membership and working to expand the reach and resources of the organization during a pivotal time in our community and nation. In addition, Bruns will also oversee the implementation of various special projects to meet the needs of investors and the greater Fox Cities community.

“Since moving to the Fox Cities in January, I have seen – even despite the challenges of a global pandemic – that this is a vibrant and supportive community. The opportunity to bring my background with a membership-based nonprofit organization into this new role was too intriguing to pass up,” Bruns said. “I look forward to meeting and working with the leaders who have guided the Fox Cities through this tumultuous year and partnering with them to help our community come out thriving on the other side of the pandemic.”

Bruns brings 20 years of marketing and communications experience to the Chamber role, recently working as director of marketing and communications for the Iowa State University Alumni Association in Ames, Iowa, prior to relocating with her family to the Fox Cities. She has also launched Copy Kate Creative – a freelance writing, editing, and communications business that has served clients across the Midwest, as well as done contract work with professional marketing firms to provide copywriting services.

Her broad scope of marketing experience provides versatility to the investor relations role when working directly with Fox Cities businesses, overseeing investor communications, and developing relationships.

Kate and her family are active in philanthropy and community service. A longtime community volunteer in Central Iowa, she received Special Olympics Iowa’s outstanding service award in 2016. A native of Waterloo, Iowa, she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication in 1999 from Iowa State University. Kate has been married for 20 years to Ben Bruns, executive vice president and general manager at The Boldt Company in Appleton. They have one son, Clayton (9).

Bruns joined the organization in the investor relations role on November 2, 2020.
