Cousins Subs to award $20,000 in scholarships to high school student athletes in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (Jan. 31, 2020)- For the eighth consecutive year, Cousins Subs® and its Make It Better Foundation will award a total of $20,000 in scholarships to four high school student athletes from across the state of Wisconsin as part of its Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Contest.

From Saturday, February 1 through Friday, February 29, high school senior athletes, who have participated in a WIAA sanctioned sport, excel in academics and make a difference in their hometown through community service, are encouraged to apply for a scholarship to help offset the cost of their college education. The Make It Better Foundation will award four scholarships:

• Two $7,500 scholarships to one male and one female applicant
• Two $2,500 scholarships to one male and one female applicant

The four contest winners will be recognized during the 2020 Wisconsin Sports Awards held this summer in Milwaukee. They will walk the blue carpet at this exclusive VIP event, which celebrates the best professional, collegiate and high school athletes from across the state.

“Cousins Subs is Local at Heart and we’re privileged to be able to invest in the education of four hard- working and servant-minded students who make it better for the communities we proudly call home,” said Justin McCoy, Vice President of Marketing at Cousins Subs.

The four scholarships are funded by the Make It Better Foundation, which is the brand’s nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to addressing the vital community needs of youth education, hunger and health and wellness. To date, the Make It Better Foundation has awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 24 student athletes from Wisconsin.
