Charter Communications: Brings its advanced broadband network with faster internet speeds and expanded TV choices

MADISON, Wis. (July 28, 2020) – Charter Communications, Inc. today announced completion of a major construction project to bring its advanced fiber-optic network and full suite of services to more than 860 residential and business sites in the villages of Orfordville and Footville, two rural southern Wisconsin communities. This project follows a similar effort completed earlier this year to bring services to the Village of Monticello.

“Our team worked extremely hard to bring our advanced Spectrum services to more residents across southern Wisconsin and to expand access to broadband in the villages of Orfordville and Footville,” said Pete Hall, Charter’s Regional Vice President. “Charter has a long-standing history of investing in our networks to better serve our customers, and that investment strategy enables us to deliver fast and reliable broadband speeds to more people in more places.”

Now, with this newest construction project complete, residents in Orfordville and Footville also have access to the company’s full suite of Spectrum Internet®, Spectrum TV®, Spectrum Voice®, and Spectrum Mobile™ services. Spectrum Internet offers starting speeds of 200 Mbps and connections up to 1 gigabit per second — with no modem fees, data caps or contracts.

Spectrum TV will bring extensive programming lineups to the area, with more than 270 HD channels and a two-way, fully interactive network featuring 18,000 On Demand offerings. Spectrum TV also provides access to the award-winning Spectrum TV App, which allows users to stream content across a growing number of platforms, including iOS and Android phones and tablets, Roku, Xbox, Kindle Fire, Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K and PCs.

Spectrum Mobile is available exclusively to Spectrum Internet customers. Offering the best speeds with the best devices, Spectrum Mobile is designed to provide customers the highest quality experience at great value, including access to next-generation 5G service where available. Customers can save up to 40% on a single line with unlimited data compared to other national carriers. They can also bring their own phone or choose from among the latest mobile devices and accessories.

Home phone service through Spectrum Voice provides unlimited local and long-distance calling and the most popular calling features.

Charter is continually extending its high-speed network to additional residential and business locations, as part of a commitment to expand access to broadband to unserved and underserved communities throughout its 41-state service area.

“Charter’s commitment to bring its advanced network and high-speed broadband service to residents in the villages of Orfordville and Footville is to be commended,” said Sen. Janis Ringhand. “As we’ve experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, access to a reliable and fast internet connection is more critical than ever

Charter’s expansion to the villages of Orfordville, Footville and Monticello build upon the connection to 31,000 additional homes and businesses across Wisconsin in 2019. Charter has an extensive Wisconsin coverage area; serving customers in more than 475 communities, many of which are rural. The company employs more than 3,800 employees in the state, and has office locations throughout the state, including call centers in Milwaukee, Fond du Lac and Appleton.
