Bayland Buildings Inc.: Open Hearth Lodge makes an addition

SISTER BAY, WISCONSIN – Bayland Buildings Inc. was selected as the design-build general contractor for a 10,044 sq. ft. addition to the currently existing Open Hearth Lodge.

John and Nora Zacek have owned and operated the Open Hearth Lodge since 2004. After an initial and thorough remodel, the lodge was then expanded by 12 rooms in 2015. Now, driven by market and specific customer behavioral trends/feedback, the lodge will be undergoing another expansion in 2021.

The addition will provide 14 new units of various room types (Kings, 2-Queens, Whirlpool Rooms, and Suites). This new 3-story building will feature all interior-entry, dog-friendly rooms and will provide other amenities targeting specifically our guests’ 4-legged family members (i.e. dog wash room, off-leash area, etc.). The existing 42 room portion of the lodge will transition back to all “non-pet” rooms. The expanded capacity will not only allow more customers to enjoy our lodge with their dogs, but it will also help better accommodate larger wedding blocks and group tours. The addition is set to be completed in the Spring of 2021.

“At the Open Hearth Lodge, we bring the comforts of home to your Door County getaway. We can accommodate couples, families, and the largest groups in a setting that is intimate and cozy.  Enjoy our indoor pool & hot tub, fitness center, continental breakfast, and other amenities on spacious grounds where nature surrounds you, and the warmth of an open fire is never far away.” – stated by John Zacek.

Open Hearth Lodge will be holding a Ground Breaking ceremony for the new addition on Thursday, November 18th at 11:30am.
