Worzalla: Breaks ground

Stevens Point, Wisconsin (November 20, 2019) – Worzalla, an employee-owned company specializing in printing high-quality children’s books, movie tie-in books and coffee table books, yesterday broke ground on its modernization and expansion plan. The launch was honored with a small ceremony with Worzalla executives, associates, partners, and community dignitaries in attendance.

This week’s groundbreaking ceremony launched the construction phase for the addition of 50,000 square feet to Worzalla’s manufacturing headquarters, an increase of 20%. The new space will house work-in-process, along with paper storage and additional bindery equipment. The other components of the manufacturing plan include the addition of a new Heidelberg 106 press and Kolbus perfect binder. Worzalla expects to create 50 jobs through this investment.

“We have received an overwhelming amount of support and positive comments from our customers, community leaders and industry partners about our modernization plans,” said Jim Fetherston, President and CEO of Worzalla. “On behalf of all of our associates, we thank those who celebrated this milestone with us as we broke ground on our expansion.”

Many community leaders and partners joined Worzalla’s groundbreaking celebration including Wisconsin Representative Katrin Shankland; Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza; Stevens Point Alderperson Mary Kneebone; Karen Myers and Tonya Kowalski of the Portage County Business Council; Rob Wyman of Incredible Bank; and Bill Lorrigan of Lorrigan Construction.

Fetherston says that the Stevens Point community shouldn’t notice the construction taking place at Worzalla after completing the necessary evaluations. Construction is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2020.
