NEILLSVILLE – The public is welcome to join in the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville Monday Aug. 19.

The groundbreaking will take place at noon at N3700 River Ave. A brief program will be followed by refreshments.

The 101,000 square-foot hospital will include 16 beds and offer primary care, walk-in care and general and orthopedic surgery. It also features a 24/7 emergency room as part of the state-designated trauma program, two operating rooms, an infusion suite and a secure landing zone for a medical helicopter.

The partnership with Marshfield Clinic Health System also allows a greater access for Neillsville area residents to medical specialists and telehealth services. The hospital is anticipated to open in spring 2021.

“Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville is expanding its service offerings to the greater Clark County area without disruption during the construction process,” Chief Administrative Officer Ryan Neville said. “Through outreach services and telehealth, we have access to world-class health care right here in Neillsville. In many cases, patients can avoid the drive to Marshfield or Eau Claire for care.”

Fundraising will begin soon to include a state-of-the-art wellness center at the hospital, which will be the first of its kind in the community.

Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville currently has about 240 employees and 20 providers.
