UW Marching Band Marches for Meals

Madison, WI – Independent Living, Inc. announces members of the UW Marching Band will once again join the national March for Meals movement. Independent Living offers the area’s only Evening Meals on Wheels program.

On Tuesday, March 13, band members will perform for residents at senior living communities. Volunteers will be present at one of the communities to share their experience delivering meals with the program.

Below are the locations and timing of the performances:

Where: The Gardens Retirement Community, 602 N. Segoe Rd., Madison (managed by Independent Living, Inc.)

When: Tuesday, March 13, 4 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. (Volunteers will be present)

Where: Park Glen Commons, 201 N. Walbridge Ave., Madison

When: Tuesday, March 13, 5 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.

Where: McKee Park Apartments, 2931 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg (managed by Independent Living, Inc.)

When: Tuesday, March 13, 6 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

In a year’s time, more than 180 volunteers for Independent Living, Inc.’s Evening Meals on Wheels deliver about 37,000 meals to those in need around the greater Madison area. Meals on Wheels America reports that in the United States, about 10 million or nearly one in six older adults face the threat of hunger.
