GREAT PHOTO-VIDEO-INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITY

It’s not your ordinary “Take Your Child to Work Day”

Day-long program features job site tour, parent interviews,

a community service project and pay for a job well done!

(Appleton, WI) Thursday, April 26 is national Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Day. At Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, it will be an all-out effort to not just show youngsters what their parents do at work, but to get them interested in career possibilities and community involvement as well.

“We wanted to provide a meaningful day for our employees’ children,” explained Carrie Williams, marketing coordinator and organizer of Hoffman’s Take Your Child to Work Day. “We didn’t just want kids sitting next to their parents’ desks and then going to lunch. We developed an agenda devoted to giving them a glimpse into the world of design and construction, as well as explaining why community engagement is an important part of the Hoffman culture.”

The kids will take part in a community give back project, experience an employee panel discussion, interview their parents about what they do, tour a job site, and then deliver their community project to Homeless Connections. The project involves assembling “care packages” that include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a bar of soap.

After putting in a full day at work, the kids will return to Hoffman around 3:15 p.m. and receive a gift bag and thank you check for their efforts. “We expect 10 – 15 of our employees’ children to join us on April 26,” added Williams. “Since we announced our plans for Take Your Child to Work Day, it’s something both our employees and their children have been looking forward to.”
