Foxconn Technology Group: Request for Proposal calls for innovative upgrades to Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley in downtown Eau Claire

Office will serve as West Central Wisconsin hub for attracting talent and building supply chain partnerships, while adding to vibrant downtown community

Milwaukee, WI – Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn) announced today it has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Design / Build firms to provide design services to modernize and enhance Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley at Haymarket Landing on 200 210 Eau Claire St., and 4 South Barstow in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Foxconn is looking for a firm that can develop a state-of-the-art co-working space that reflects the innovative and cutting-edge technologies that the company’s transformational Wisconn Valley project and AI 8K+5G ecosystem will inspire and enable.

In addition to serving as an innovation center as part of the talent and innovation network that Foxconn is creating in Wisconsin, Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley will also house an incubator and laboratory for next-generation technological solutions. 

“This announcement is another step forward in Foxconn’s commitment to creating talent and innovation hubs across Wisconsin,” said Dr. Alan Yeung, Director of U.S. Strategic Initiatives, Foxconn. “Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley will be home to 150 employees working together with our partners to create and apply technological solutions in a real-world environment to meet the opportunities and challenges oftomorrow. Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley will connect West Central Wisconsin to the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Mount Pleasant, allowing businesses, talent and academia in this region to be a part of this transformational project.”

Dr. Yeung added, “Establishing Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley and our request for ideas and design proposals to update and enhance this office are in line with our continued efforts to contribute to an attractive and vibrant environment for talent, innovation, business and the local community. We hope to do our part to inject new energy that will support the ongoing development of the downtown area through the addition of employees at Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley and the partners, suppliers and other tech companies that will be drawn to this new regional technology hub.”   

As part of Foxconn’s “Wisconsin First” approach, Design / Build firms with strong track records in Wisconsin will be given preference in the RFP process. The RFP on Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley focuses on providing design and build services that include:

  • A “co-working’ environment where employees, companies and entrepreneurs work on innovative ideas and cutting-edge solutions, socialize and collaborate.
  • A “pipe-line” to attract and retain a technology-based workforce for Foxconn.
  • An “application area” for Foxconn’s 8K+5G technology.
  • A center for brand and culture building.

Completed proposals are due by 10:00am CDT on September 27, 2018, and are to be delivered to 611 E. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee, WI, c/o Adam Jen. Foxconn’s goal is to occupy the finished space in as early as December 2018. Foxconn Place Chippewa Valley is one of three Foxconn locations across Wisconsin in addition to the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Mount Pleasant. These include Foxconn’s North American corporate headquarters in downtown Milwaukee and Foxconn Place Green Bay.
