DATCP: Farm Safety Seminar to Be Held During World Dairy Expo

Organized by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Center for Dairy Farm Safety and M3 Insurance, the symposium will give World Dairy Expo attendees the opportunity to learn about ways to keep farm workers and employees safe on the farm.

DATCP Secretary Harsdorf will welcome the public to the symposium, and DATCP Farm Center Director Kathy Schmitt will be among the symposium’s speakers.

OSHA Industry Overview-Farm Safety Policy Updates
Developing an Effective Farm Safety Plan
Safety Training for Non-English Speaking Workers
Safe Handling of Pharmaceuticals and Animals
Understanding Stress on Dairy Farms.

World Dairy Expo attendees are encouraged to attend the symposium, scheduled Thursday, Oct. 4, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., in Mendota 4 Ballroom at the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall.
