Wisconsin Realtors Foundation Inc: Chairman Spranger issues statement, “realtors help families return home”

Contact: Mike Spranger, Chairman Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation

Tornados can kill, often injure, but always damage and destroy property. Tornado survivors face weeks, months and even years, without their homes, personal belongings and most-cherished possessions. As REALTORS®, we help families find homes. At no time is that service more valuable and more necessary than when natural disasters strike.

That is why three REALTOR® foundations – at the national, state and local levels – have joined together to provide emergency housing assistance to the families whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the tornados that ripped through Barron and Rusk counties in northern Wisconsin on May 16, 2017

As Chairman of the Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation, I’m proud our statewide organization has joined the local REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin Foundation and the National Association of REALTORS® Relief Fund, in providing emergency housing assistance to victims as they repair or replace homes damaged in the deadly tornados. This assistance will include efforts to meet immediate needs such as temporary housing costs and assistance with rent and/or mortgage payments. Together, our foundations will provide some $64,000 in near-term relief. If past is prologue, we expect individual REALTORS® will provide additional financial support as well.

We are pleased to do our small part to help these families and our communities rebuild, and we are proud to join our neighbors in doing so.
