Madison, WI – Today the Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau (LAB) released its third biennial audit of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), the state’s lead economic development organization. The audit highlighted a range of WEDC’s improvements, including its oversight and administration of various programs that facilitate the advancement of Wisconsin’s economy.

Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) President Ed White released the following statement on the LAB audit:

“WEDA strongly supports WEDC’s efforts to expand economic development opportunities throughout Wisconsin, and our members who work directly with the corporation have witnessed the many improvements made by WEDC over the last two years. While these improvements were not a surprise to our members, WEDA is pleased the Legislative Audit Bureau has acknowledged these findings.

The audit also provides additional recommendations and WEDA is confident those items will be successfully implemented under the leadership of WEDC Secretary and CEO Mark Hogan.”
