A Hiring Event (Job Fair) is set for Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at the Community Action Training Center at 27 Eclipse Center in Beloit. In recognition of Manufacturing Month, the event will focus on the manufacturing industry. As of October 3, there were 18 employers registered, offering over 260 job openings.

The event is free and open to the public. For better chances of success, those attending are urged to research employers prior to the event, prepare yourself for your introduction when meeting the potential employer, and to dress appropriately, along with bringing your resume and completing applications online prior to the event. Those needing help in creating or editing their resumes or printing it can come to the Resource Room at the Rock County Job Center, 1900 Center Ave., Janesville.

Wisconsin produced $57 billion worth of economic output in 2015, with manufacturing employing 462,000 workers who receive an average salary of $55K per year. Approximately 85 percent of manufacturing employees receive employer-sponsored health insurance.
