Diversifying Milwaukee’s spirits landscape with a modern approach to whiskey, Kentucky-based Rabbit Hole Distilling announces its official launch in the Brew City. Born in 2012 by Founder & Whiskey Maker Kaveh Zamanian in the heart of Louisville’s urban bourbon trail, Rabbit Hole Distilling unifies heritage techniques with innovative mash bills, creating unique expressions of American whiskey redefining native bourbon language.

Rabbit Hole stands firmly on the essence of inclusivity, promoting a sense of pride in this native spirit and bringing a burst of “un-traditionalism” to American whiskey culture. A self-proclaimed outsider in the bourbon community, Zamanian was inspired by the opportunity to modernize the industry. And now, the rabbit hops into the Milwaukee market.

DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
Zamanian fell for bourbon while falling for his wife, a Louisville native, who lured him away from Scotch and introduced him to the progressive vibrancy of Kentucky, and bourbon. Leaving his established psychology practice as a certified psychoanalyst, he turned his attention to the world of craft spirits and forged a new dream, to become not only a whiskey maker, but also one who challenges the norm. He followed his passion, moved to Louisville, and imagined a new goal – to deliver a new model of whiskey making embracing long-established customs all the while turning bourbon culture on its side with modern practices and flavor.

With a collection of three specialty whiskeys and a barrel-finished gin, each symbols of “individualism, self-sufficiency, and living life to the fullest,” Rabbit Hole Distilling unabashedly encourages a life of adventure, taking drinkers from black and white into a new world of vivid color. Partnering with Louisville staple Kelvin Cooperage, Rabbit Hole’s distinct flavors and beautiful amber color come from the wood burned, flame charred barrels.

THE COLLECTION
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The keystone product of Rabbit Hole Distilling, the Four-Grain Kentucky Straight Bourbon, epitomizes the best of the bourbon world – spectacular explosions of malted flavors – with a subtly sweet recipe twist. With a one-of-a-kind mash bill of 70% corn, 10% malted wheat, 10% honey malted barley, and 10% malted barley, this sipping bourbon is the only product on the market with barley as the secondary flavoring grain, offering a unique expression of traditional whiskey.

Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
A whiskey variation that drinkers will remember long after it leaves their glass, the Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is a bold representation of the best of the rye movement. Robust and strong, the spirit is comprised of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and distilled and aged in Kentucky. It’s a true, genuine example of a rye that packs a punch.

Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in PX Sherry Casks – Fingerprint Edition
Showcasing the art of finishing and blending in whiskey, Straight Bourbon Whiskey with a wheat mash bill is first aged for five years in #4 char barrels. It’s then aged and finished in hand-selected, 30-year-old PX sherry casks from Spain, pouring a smooth and balanced spirit. Coined a Fingerprint Edition* PX Series, this one-of-a-kind blend by Rabbit Hole is an example of modern bourbon at its most refined with a mash bill of 68% corn, 18% wheat, and 14% malted barley.

London Dry Gin-Kentucky Rye Barrel Finished – Fingerprint Edition
This London Dry Gin is imported from England and is aged in Rabbit Hole’s Kentucky Rye barrels. It’s the perfect base for anything from a martini to a Negroni.
