MADISON, Wis., August 1, 2017 – This weekend Madison’s Lakes will turn back the clock and
welcome classic and antique boats from around the region. Dozens of classics, including
wooden boats, will cruise Lakes Mendota, Monona, and Waubesa throughout the weekend.

“This weekend is as much about showcasing these great boats as it is about having a
good time,” said Mark Walters “Each boat owner enjoys engaging with the public and answering
questions about his or her classic boat.”

Schedule of Events

On Friday, boat owners will take a tour of the lakes, including a planned stop at The
Edgewater on Lake Mendota for lunch and and an evening event at Christy’s Landing on Lake
Waubesa. On Saturday, the nearly 50 classic boats will be slipped at Christy’s from 10:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m. for public viewing.

Cruising for a Cause:

This year, the Madison Area Antique & Classic Boat Show will again aim to raise money for Clean Lakes Alliance – the non-profit group based in Madison with a mission of building a community of people, businesses, organizations, and government agencies dedicated to improving and protecting water quality in the Yahara Watershed. The goal is to raise $5,000 through sponsorships and public donations.
