Bachmann Construction, Madison, recently broke ground for the 8500 square foot Heritage Ridge Travel Plaza and Wild Goose Café at the corner of Hwy 151 and 26, Waupun.
Cal Herman, president of Eden Meats and Catering, is the developer. He also owns Eden Corner Express and Lodgeview Express, near Fond du Lac.
The Heritage Ridge Travel Plaza, located on a former farm field, will include a 5000 square foot convenience store, a catering business and a café seating 85 people. There will also be CITGO fuel bays and amenities for truckers such as showers, laundry facilities, and lounge. More than 50 people will be employed.
Heritage Ridge Travel Plaza will be completed in January, according to David Grob, Bachmann project manager.
Both Eden Meats and Catering and Bachmann Construction are multi-generational family –owned Wisconsin-based businesses.
