On December 8, Wisconsin Bank & Trust’s Fitchburg location hosted the Verona Road Business Coalition as well as city officials, local businesses, and customers for a “ROADS ARE OPEN” ribbon-cutting event. The ceremony and reception mark the completion of the three-year initial phase of the Verona Road Corridor project.

“We are honored to be part of the Verona Road Business Coalition’s terrific and locally supportive work,” said Kim McLaughlin, Banking Center Manager at Wisconsin Bank & Trust’s Fitchburg office. “Our message to the public is ‘Roads Are Open’—and so are local businesses.”

The Verona Road Business Coalition has worked to inform the public and support local businesses during the multi-year construction process. At the December 8 event, Madison TV channels 27 and 15 were present to cover the news and festivities. View Channel 27’s coverage online here:

The event included remarks from Steve Arnold, mayor of Fitchburg; Angela Kinderman, executive director of the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce; and Steve Theisen of WisDOT. Many representatives of local businesses also attended to celebrate the corridor’s milestone.
