Wisconsin Bank & Trust Takes Swipe at Breast Cancer

Madison, Wisc., March 17, 2016 — The fight against breast cancer in Wisconsin received a boost recently, after a check presentation to Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation, Inc. in Fitchburg, totaling $17,645.88.

“This annual donation by Wisconsin Bank and Trust provides critical support for programs that help women heal emotionally after surviving breast cancer,” said Gail Riedasch, Executive Director of the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation. “We greatly appreciate the bank’s long standing contribution to this vital aspect of breast cancer recovery.”

The Pink Ribbon Debit Card is free and available with all Wisconsin Bank & Trust personal checking accounts. “Each time a customer swipes his or her card to make a purchase, the bank makes a 2.5-cent contribution to the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation in Madison,” said Amber Tenpas, Vice President Retail Banking Manager of Wisconsin Bank & Trust. “We are honored to contribute to our community and the cause, which affects more than 3 million people annually.”

Since the launch of the Pink Ribbon Debit Card in May 2012, community members have taken 1,745,028 “swipes against breast cancer,” leading to $43,625.73 in total donations to the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation. The bank’s parent organization, Heartland Financial USA, Inc., has contributed nearly $400,000 to cancer support groups since 2012.
