Madison, Wis. —ESPN analyst and professional golfer Andy North and his friends from the sports and entertainment worlds will hit the links at the Maple Bluff Country Club Monday, June 6 to raise money for the UW Carbone Cancer Center.

Golfers expected at the eighth annual Andy North and Friends event include: Olympic gold medalist speed skater Bonnie Blair; professional golfer and Golf Channel personality Billy Kratzert; sportscaster and Golf Channel play-by-play announcer Terry Gannon; newly named Badger basketball assistant coach (and former player) Joe Krabbenhoft; former Badger men’s basketball players: Jordan Taylor, Ben Brust, Josh Gasser, and Greg Stiemsma; former Badger hockey player Adam Burish; UW athletic director Barry Alvarez; former AD Pat Richter; former Badger and NFL wide receiver Al Toon, and Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Greg Gard. There are usually numerous surprise guests, as well.

Media will be able to interview celebrities from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the Maple Bluff Country Club, 500 Kensington Drive, Madison.

Athletes and guests will not be available for media interviews during the dinner Sunday night.

Two-time US Open champion Andy North is an analyst for ESPN. He’s also a survivor of skin cancer and prostate cancer, and committed to supporting the work of the UW Carbone Cancer Center, where he received treatment.

The Andy North and Friends event has raised more than $7 million for the cancer center in the past seven years. The money has helped support UW Carbone pilot research projects on topics ranging from a novel therapeutic for head and neck cancer, a prostate-cancer vaccine and a study of follow-up care for breast cancer patients, among others.
