REGISTRATION FOR SPORT AND SOCIETY CONFERENCE IS NOW OPEN
Conference Hosted by St. Norbert College and the Green Bay Packers
DE PERE, WIS.: Formal conference registration is now open for “Sport and Society.” Registration will be limited, and will close on May 16.
The conference will be hosted by St. Norbert College and the Green Bay Packers, May 23-25, and will focus on the business of college sports.
The Sport and Society conference is a distinctive, intimate and affordable three-day event that provides opportunities for sports academics and professionals working in sports-related fields to network and share their expertise about sports.
Featured speakers will be Wisconsin Badgers athletics director Barry Alvarez; Jeffrey Kessler, one of the most prominent lawyers in the country regularly engaged in high-profile sports litigation; Darren Rovell, an Emmy-award-winning reporter for ESPN; former Packer and current CBS college football analyst Aaron Taylor; and former WNBA great and Wisconsin native Anna De Forge.
This is the fourth conference of its kind put on by St. Norbert College and the Green Bay Packers. The first conference was held in 2010. This partnership between an NFL team and an institution of higher education brings together academics and business professionals from around the country.
The Packers have held their summer training camp at St. Norbert College for 58 years, the longest such relationship between a pro football team and a college in the NFL.
The conference fee of $225 (early registration) includes access to all keynote speeches and concurrent sessions, the conference dinner, luncheons at Lambeau Field and St. Norbert College, and several coffee breaks daily. Conference attendees will also be provided a guided tour of Lambeau Field, a pass to the new Packers Hall of Fame and admission to St. Norbert College’s Godschalx Gallery, located in the Bush Art Center on campus. The Godschalx Gallery will feature the Green Bay Packers’ four Super Bowl rings, only during the conference’s opening reception. There will also be artwork by St. Norbert’s John Gordon on display. Gordon designed the legendary Packers “G” logo. For more on Gordon’s story, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZHTSpZ9KM8.
