DE PERE, WIS.: Lee Reid, a leading technology specialist for IBM, is joining St. Norbert College as interim chief information officer and vice president of the Information Technology Services division.

“It’s an honor to have this opportunity with St. Norbert College,” Reid says. “I’ll be working hard to listen to, and collaborate with, the campus community as we all utilize technology for better outcomes.”

For the past two years, Reid led IBM’s international technical architects specializing in DevOps and cloud computing. In that role, while based in Green Bay, he has traveled the world working with multinational corporations on enterprise applications and programs. For 11 years prior to that, he did similar work as one of IBM’s lead enterprise specialists for the Midwest, operating out of Chicago. At IBM he has consulted with many enterprise IT leaders in corporations across several industries including automotive, health care, insurance, banking, retail and state government.

A native of New York state, Reid earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the prestigious General Motors Institute and went on to get a master’s in computer engineering from the University of Michigan. He began working for GM just as robotics was emerging in the automotive industry, which got him into software development and applications, and further into the technology field.

Reid will start on March 1. He is replacing Raechelle Clemmons, who recently left St. Norbert to become chief information officer at Davidson College in North Carolina.

“We are tremendously fortunate to have someone of Lee’s expertise and passion for technology joining us in this crucial position,” said St. Norbert College President Thomas Kunkel. “Technology is an incredible tool, but it’s only as effective as the intelligence and creativity we users bring to it.”
