Rival Solutions was founded in March 2013 with a primary objective to introduce new and innovative methods for aiding decision processes related to the different disciplines within public works and geomatic domains. Rival’s core solutions bring simple, efficient, dynamic, and scalable alternatives to preventative management of infrastructure by integrating state of the art technologies of mobile mapping, cloud computing, and web dashboard reporting. Products are driven by a core requirement to remove as much operating complexity and burden from the end user as possible, so data can be captured with ease, and to drive time sensitive decisions required for planning, operating, and maintaining transportation networks.
The base technology platform consists of an iPad app that is fully customizable and used to generate digital condition audits for Sidewalks, Runways, Parking Lots and other infrastructure as well as an iPhone app that is used to automatically gather road condition data for both paved and unpaved roads. This data can be viewed and exported via a web-based mapping platform, and can also automatically create service requests within the Public Service Request system. This will notify the appropriate person to the issue and track repair status of the defined failures. The data can also be fed into other sources such as a pavement management application, asset management application, GIS, or Rival Solutions web-based dashboard.
Like Public Service Request, Rival Solutions is also based on the vision that technology can readily be brought to smaller towns, cities, counties and airports that make up the majority of government organizations serving the public, without the need for expensive in-house IT resources.
